Global Waste Tire Recycling: Pyrolysis Technology Advances TDF Utilization

The US converted 58% of waste tires into Tire-derived Fuel (TDF) as early as 2020. Of this, 51% fueled cement kilns, replacing fossil fuels. Japan utilizes 68% of its waste tires as TDF, mainly in power plants and cement factories. China's "14th Five-Year Plan" lists TDF as a key circular economy project. It targets 70% comprehensive utilization by 2025. Pilot programs in Guangdong and Shandong provinces test TDF as a coal replacement with subsidies.
